An article published earlier today in Bingostreet news section reports about the huge fight going on in the UK about online gambling. As online bingo enthusiasts this affects us all, but it is a controversial subject.
A new NHS clinic is being opened to care for problem gamblers who suffer from addiction to gambling. The main problem facing the clinic is funding, and who should do the funding. The clinic has funds to operate for a year, but the future after that is in jeopardy.
The 2005 Gambling Act made pretty sure that all online bingo operators, online casino operators etc., who wanted to operate in the UK had be regulated, and were also subject to increased revenue tax – all great news for the Treasury.
But where has all this money gone? Organisations like Gamcare, which is already funded by the online bingo industry among others, is fighting against the RIGT trying to find an answer to the funding problems for clinics such as these.
The Gambling Commission, also funded partially by the online bingo and casino industry, has little support from the apathetic government since the super-casino fiasco, and doesn’t really know what’s what.
So who should pay? The online bingo and casino industry, plus the land-based industry is already paying huge taxes, plus has donated £250,000 to the clinic already. As an NHS clinic shouldn’t the government be funding the rest?
Personally, I believe that the biggest problem is getting society (and the government) to recognise that addiction to gambling, as with any kind of addiction, is a serious condition that requires treatment. Once they get that into their thick heads then we can all get on with our daily fix of online bingo fun.

We all recognise that familiar online bingo buzz of excitement we get when we get down to 3TG, then 2TG and then someone else pops up with 3TG, then another two 2TG’s and then you’re even stevens with three other bingo roomies on 1TG and finally you can explode in a happy shout of Bingo!
I just love the excitement of this game, some of my friends don’t understand what I get from it, even saying playing real bingo is better than playing bingo online. I would disagree.
For me, online bingo is simply the best thing since sliced bread! I can’t really explain why when I sit down to play bingo online it just shifts me into another frame of mind, I’m pretty sure it’s good for my soul! I get such a thrill out of playing, chatting with other roomies – and it’s always up to you – you don’t have to chat bingo with anyone if you don’t feel like it.
I think that when I play bingo online it’s my stress reliever, my personal non-violent punch ball, basically a calm-me-down pill and de-stresser. Online bingo lets me escape and takes me to a place which can be peaceful – if I don’t chat and concentrate on winning at bingo, or just let it flow and get in on the bingo chat buzz with fellow roomies.
Love it, love it, love it!

Normally I spend quite a fair bit of my free time playing bingo online, but what happens when I can’t get my regular fix? Do I get withdrawal symptoms from not playing bingo? You bet I do!
Take this weekend for instance, we’ve got a high speed internet connection which delivers everything I could ever need to my desktop, the world news, my online bingo news, and my favourite of all – many entertaining evenings having a cheery waffle while I play bingo online.
Ok, so what happens when your internet connection goes down as it did for us this Friday night? The very first thing you realise is that you can’t play online bingo! We were in a total panic – well probably me more than my wife, she wasn’t too bothered – she goes through phases with online bingo. But for me, online bingo is a daily necessity. Without my daily fix I’d go stir crazy!
It hit me hard, we had a few hours in the end without connectivity and I missed my regular Friday evening enjoyment when I settle down to play online bingo and just chill out. Of course by the time the connection was restored it was too late to do play online bingo, I’d missed all the big jackpot games, plus it was way past my bedtime.
But I was very cheesed off and incredibly grumpy. My long-suffering wife took the brunt of it, but I made it up to her later

A true online bingo enthusiast to the extreme, a 42 year old woman stole £62,000 from the petrol station where she worked to fund her online bingo habit.
Recently split up from her husband she’d left home and moved in with a friend, who introduced her to online bingo. She started playing online bingo with her own money, then got into debts using her credit cards, and when it started going even more out of control took money from the petrol station to continue playing online bingo.
So would you steal almost £63K to play bingo online? It’s a bit of a loaded question, as she got sentenced yesterday to just six months behind bars. Some would say this is a very lenient judgement, others would argue that she was obviously addicted to playing online bingo and not in right state of mind.
What is surprising is that she funnelled the £62k out of the garage over a period of just 63 days, from August 16 to October 19 2007, that’s an awful lot of online bingo games. There were two main online bingo sites that she played at, Mecca Bingo and Foxy Bingo. It does kind of make you wonder about their Responsible Gambling policies – £30k a month is an absolutely huge amount of money – there must have been at least a few warning flags popping up for these online bingo operators surely!
Not being a judge or in any way involved with the legal profession, I’d like to end on a high note and suggest that I’d happily do 6 months bird if it meant I could play bingo online in true VIP style with sixty grand at my disposal!

An ardent fan of online bingo, perhaps more so than of traditional bingo with which I don’t have much experience, it was funny to read earlier today about the results of a recent survey of bingo players across the UK.
Admittedly, most of the players surveyed played traditional bingo rather than online bingo, but it was a delight to see how much of an effect the humble game of bingo has on the love life of bingo fans all across the UK. Bingo is good for the heart and the soul – and that goes for online bingo too!
Winning a bingo jackpot in a traditional bingo hall has a huge effect between the sheets – with roughly 70% of bingo winners getting in the mood for love at home after a hot bingo jackpot win. Surprising too, how many winners don’t let on to their partners about their bingo win!
I’m sure that it’s the same with online bingo, the only difference is that the bedroom is right there – all you have to do is make sure your partner is around when you strike it lucky!
Never having won a huge online bingo jackpot myself, I can’t really speak from experience. I normally just play bingo online for the fun and entertainment, my expectations of winning are probably quite normal. However on the odd few occasions when I’ve struck it lucky with a full house for a smaller jackpot while I play online bingo, it definitely does shoot your adrenaline level up – and all that adrenaline has to be released somehow!
So there you have it, online bingo can definitely improve your love life – when you hit that huge jackpot! So don’t give up ladies and gents, persevere while you play online bingo and perk up your online bingo bedroom antics too!

The crew at Wink Bingo are totally nuts! If you like to have a good old fashioned giggle while you play bingo online, check out these latest viral TV commercials from Wink Bingo – these guys have a funny and sometimes warped sense of humour when it comes to playing bingo online that never fails to make me laugh.
You can see the Wink Bingo virals here, just click on the link and clear the room so you can have a good old belly laugh while you watch:

One of these fabulously funny TV bingo promotions was in the online bingo news headlines very recently, as it actually got banned from appearing on our television screens! Totally crazy decision I thought, far too much politically correct thinking going on at the moment – for goodness sake we’re just trying to have fun while we play bingo online – what’s the big deal?! People just don’t have the bingo balls anymore do they?
I absolutely love the tongue-in-cheek humour of the Wink Bingo advertising team – not to mention their hot online bingo games and bingo promotions – but that’s another story entirely!
Three cheers for WinkBingo.com TV virals – long may they live, and may there be many many more funny online bingo moments for us hard-core online bingo enthusiasts!
