I know I was raving last time about a certain bingo site’s special week of totally free bingo games, but it’s possibly a small known fact (more like a well-kept online bingo secret) that Bet365 Bingo actually do Free Bingo Games all year round – yup!

Another classy bingo site in my book, Bet365 Bingo offers a huge range of bingo games and jackpots, making it a great choice for online bingo fans as the variety and choice of bingo games is excellent.

So how affordable are the online bingo games at Bet365 Bingo?

LOL! How does totally free bingo games grab you? Yup, these guys do free bingo games 4 days a week, every single week of the year – where you don’t have to deposit any money, you can just play bingo online for free with the chance of winning the cash jackpots. How cool is that?!

Of course you’re not going to become a multi-millionaire playing the free bingo games overnight, it could take a few years (centuries even), but it’s there if you want it, which is what counts.

If you’re feeling a bit braver you could always go for Penny Bingo where the tickets are just 1p a shot – imagine, you could buy 99 bingo online tickets for a game and still get 1p back from your quid! Sounds good to me.

For those even braver bingo buddies among you, there’s even 5p bingo games, and of course the jackpots are a bit meatier here, but if you’re on a tight bingo budget then this is the way to go.

Of course you’ll find much bigger online bingo games at Bet365 Bingo too, not to mention all their mighty fine slots progressives and side games. However the point I’m trying to make is that bingo has never been so affordable as it is at Bet365 Bingo.

Bingo has always been a popular game, ever since it was introduced in the mid 1920s. Since that time it’s always been played, but of late there seems to be a surge happening in its popularity, both at traditional walk-in bingo halls, and on the Internet.

So why Bingo? What is it about this game that keeps drawing crowds of fans week after week? Is it that it’s such an easy game to learn? Could it be because of the cash prizes you can win? Maybe it’s about the socialising?

And maybe it’s all of the above. But one thing is certain – bingo halls are more packed than they’ve ever been. Despite the economic downturn, traditional bingo games have continued to thrive.

In part, it could be to do with the whole experience of the live event. Playing the bingo game on a computer is one thing, but turning up at the local of an evening is a chance to meet new friends and to socialise.

Bingo games rarely cost more than a couple of pence, or a quid at the outside, so perhaps it’s that a visit to a live bingo event offers an entire evening of entertainment for less than it would cost to rent a DVD?

Interestingly, there’s a fast growing youth demographic who are taking part in bingo, despite perceptions that bingo nights are populated exclusively by the elderly.

But it’s not just the live bingo halls that are seeing growth this year. The online bingo experience is proving as attractive a draw as the live experience. We’re seeing new bingo sites springing up all the time, and tried and trusted ones are going from strength to strength.

So what is it that’s so appealing about playing bingo online? For one thing, there’s the convenience factor – not having to trudge down to the local hall when its raining is a plus.

Then there’s the playing assist – most sites now have features that will automatically daub your card for you if you’d like, which is great if your concentration isn’t up to scratch. It will even call Bingo for you when you win.

So whether you prefer to play online, or get your coat on and turn up at your local bingo club, perhaps you should be seeing what all the fuss is about? You might even have a good time while you’re about it.

Two players in Cumbria have enjoyed some staggering wins over the past few days at traditional bingo halls that are part of the Opera Bingo network. Both players were club regulars, well known on the local scene.

Last week Thursday was a bingo night like any other at the Middlegate club in Penrith. There was a good turnout and people were having a good time indulging in a couple of cards of bingo. But then the unexpected happened: a local player called Full House on 86.

A glorious win, surely, but this was so much more. You see, this was a national linked game, so the player – who has asked to remain anonymous – would be taking home the astronomical sum of £20,000.

That’s a life changing sum of money – you could take a year off work with that, if you were careful. Certainly it’s going to make this player’s xmas an exceedingly merry one.

But that isn’t all – on top of the national £20,000 prize, the player also won £2,427 in local club winnings. That gives a grand total of £22,427 – not bad for an evening’s play!

Then on Sunday night another Cumbrian player at an Opera Bingo club also struck it lucky. The woman – who also wishes to remain anonymous – almost didn’t come out to bingo that night despite being a dedicated regular because the weather was foul.

But in the end her husband managed to convince her to join him for their weekly bingo night, and it certainly paid off. The woman managed to land a spectacular win – she scooped £12,500 in a split of the national prize, and once local bingo bonuses had been added she went home with a whopping £15,875.

Imagine if she’d stayed in?

Opera Bingo clubs do have a reputation for big wins. In April, a player won a £33,000 national prize at the Whitehall club, and June saw a woman win £27,000 at the Penrith club.

Wow, Wink Bingo is on fire again! Not only is my fave online bingo site donating tons of bingo cash this weekend to the BBC Children in Need fund, but they’re making it possible for us online bingo players to do our bit too, by donating our bingo bonus points to the very worthy cause.

So how do you do it? Simple, just login to your bingo online account at Wink Bingo this weekend and let the nearest CM know how many bingo points you want to give. Wink Bingo will store everybody’s online bingo points over the weekend, and on Monday the cash value of all your bingo points will be DOUBLED by Wink Bingo (top bingo dudes!) and given to Children in Need. So now you know what to do, what are you waiting for?!

Tonight’s Frantic Friday jackpot will be won by a lucky Winker – that’s a fact. Another fact is that Wink Bingo will match the winning player’s jackpot up to £5,000 and will give all this cash to Children in Need! Bless you Wink Bingo!

What else is going on at Wink Bingo? Well tonight they’ve got another one of their cool no-risk online bingo games – £1000 jackpot that must be won, bingo tickets only cost 10p each. Buy as many tickets as you can to maximise your chances of winning the cool £1K jack – if you don’t win tonight’s game you get a full refund on all your bingo tickets on Monday – how cool is that?

Once again my friends, my hat and I bow down low to the kings of bingo online: Wink Bingo!

Everyone has their favourite Bingo story. I suspect that the tale I’m about to recount has been rattling around for years, but my nan swears she was there for this first one. Then again, she swears a lot, my nan. Especially if someone yells out “House!” before her.

Anyway, as the story goes, my nan is down her local bingo hall of a Tuesday night. She’s always there Tuesdays, something about a fit bloke that calls the numbers out. You have to watch my nan. Actually it’s more like he better watch her.

So she’s played a few bingo cards and got absolutely nowhere, which makes her a bit antsy like, especially as her arch rival Gladys from 2B across the way has called two lines this evening already and will no doubt be rubbing it in her face at tea tomorrow.

So in an effort to get ahead she buys four cards for the next bingo game. Her luck has got to change soon and besides, there’s a guaranteed £200 up for this game.

She’s got them spread out in front of her, and she’s daubing away madly, when she starts to be aware of the conversation between these two “blue haired old ladies” next to her. My nan is 82, by the way, and doesn’t consider herself old.

The first lady is being all busybody like. Every time the fit bloke up front calls a number, she leans over to her mate and says, “You’ve got that number, Muriel, just there, mark it off.”

Her mate has a look and goes, “Oh aye, Myffanwy, I do, thank you,” and daubs it with her big marker.

This goes on for a bit, and eventually it’s really starting to annoy my nan, partly because she’s really not doing well and partly because the first woman has a really grating, sing-song voice. By the fifth time this happens, my nan has had enough.

Leaning forward, she pokes the woman on the shoulder with the back end of her dauber and says, “Look here, love, no disrespect but why don’t you shut up and concentrate on your own card, then?”

“Can’t,” says the woman.

“Why’s that?” enquires my nan.

“It’s full already,” the woman replies.

Some people, eh?

This weekend past saw a wicked armed robbery at a bingo hall in Windsor, Ontario. The bingo hall in question is called Paradise Bingo, and it’s on Dougall Avenue, a venue well known and loved by the locals.

According to the local police, it had been a good night at Paradise Bingo and the staff were busy closing up for the night, packing chairs away and so on. It was about 1 o’clock in the morning when two robbers walked in.

They are both described as being young, perhaps in their 20s, and both over five and a half feet tall. The first had a green scarf and a black hoodie, with dark trousers and gloves. His partner in crime was in blue jeans, a grey jacket, and also wearing a hoodie.

The pair strolled in off the street, and one of them produced a semi-automatic weapon. Training the gun on the bingo hall staff, the two demanded all of the cash.

Fearing for their lives, the staff of Paradise Bingo wisely complied, and turned over the day’s takings, whereupon the two men immediately fled the premises, heading on foot down Dougall Avenue. They didn’t appear to have a getaway car handy.

No shots were fired and no one was hurt. The robbers were last seen entering Jackson Park.
Thus far no one has been nicked for the crime and the police are still investigating.

It’s worrying that two men could just walk right in and clear the place out, but I suppose that it’s just as well that they waited until the players had left.

I don’t think that robberies like this one, although frightening for those that were there, will have too much impact on the bingo industry. However, it has to be observed that this couldn’t possibly have happened at an online bingo parlour.

When you’re playing online at your favourite bingo site, you’re safe in the security of your own home. You’re sat in your own favourite comfy chair, and you’re probably having a sneaky gin at the same time. You can even smoke, if you’ve a mind to.

And since all financial transactions are done online between you, the bingo site and your bank, there’s no ready cash lying around to be robbed anyway.

I’ve been reading the latest entries in the Bingostreet pink laptop giveaway competition in the Bingo Forum and you guys are sending in some good ones – keep ‘em coming! One of you lucky bingo online players is going to win an amazing and really cool laptop which will no doubt multiply your bingo online luck by a huge factor!

My fave Wink Bingo story so far is the lady with her two bill-ripping doggies, she accidentally got them to rip up unpaid bills for the Bye Bye Bills online bingo promo that was running not long ago – LOL!

Poor lady also had trouble accessing the Bingo Forum – it’s not that easy I admit, but the tech guys at our bingo HQ say that the verification is there to stop nasty spammers from flooding the bingo forum with rubbish. We like to keep a clean bingo forum thank you, no junk here!

I even thought about having a go at this bingo online competition myself, I’m such a regular at Wink Bingo it would be crazy not to, but my bingo boss might just start popping his bingo balls!

So I’m just going to sit back and let you lot get on with winning the pink laptop. Think of all the extra luck the pink laptop will bring you when you’re playing online bingo. You’ll have to get a matching pink mousie :) And matching pink headphones too, so you can hear your bingo balls being called loud and clear.

Good luck to you all with the pink laptop, and may the best bingostreeter win!
