William Hill Bingo have made quite a drastic change to their Welcome Bonus for new members of the bingo site. It’s gone from £10 free up to a whopping £25 Free!

Since launching 2 years ago, their first year in the online bingo market was incredibly low profile. But this all changed last summer, when the bingo site went wild with a huge marketing campaign in conjunction with MSN that splashed their banners all over the internet, and even in MSN Messenger too. The William Hill Bingo new players bonus had changed to a massive £20 Free – possibly the biggest bingo bonus available at the time!

Public reaction was massive, I mean you can’t miss when you go all the way with MSN – every which way you looked you saw  ‘£20 Free at William Hill Bingo’ -  it truly was a successful bingo advertising campaign that placed the bingo site firmly on the map of online bingo UK.

At the end of 2008, the bingo site downgraded the bingo bonus to a more standard £10 Free, I believe this happened at about the same time they changed their affiliate marketing company.

Even more recently the £10 Free bonus became conditional upon a qualifying deposit, bingo fans needing to deposit at least £10 into their bingo accounts to receive £10 Free Cash Match. In our opinion this didn’t do much for their appeal as an online bingo site, especially when other bingo sites were giving out £15 or even £20 Free without requiring a deposit.

Although the intentions were good, obviously negative effects were felt within the bingo site too, paving the way for another drastic change, but a clever one too. Within the last couple of days, William Hill Bingo have again changed their Welcome Bonus, there’s a hint of the old and also a hint of the new, perhaps this will become the best of both worlds for the bingo site: £25 Free if you deposit and play £5 within 24 hours of signup.

The new £25 Free bonus is sure to be a hit. It’s a lot of free bingo money, possibly the biggest freebie for bingo UK players at the moment. So it definitely scores high on the appeal factor. The clever thing is that the conditional £5 deposit and play seems like such a minor issue in comparison, I’m sure more bingo fans will be tempted than not to take William Hill Bingo up on this pretty generous welcome bonus offer – especially now that their bingo site is looking so hot – try it out for yourself and let us know what you think!

Register an account at William Hill Bingo and receive £25 Free when you stake £5!

Did you know that the esteemed Russell Grant writes a specially commissioned Bingo Horoscope for Bingostreet.com every week?

If you’re like me, and never leave the house without checking your daily horoscope, you might want to take a peek at our Weekly Horoscope – as it is written specifically for people who play bingo online.

For example, if there’s a big bingo game coming up soon, such as the Wink Bingo £5K Club 90 ball bingo jackpot game tomorrow (Feb 5), then make sure to check your bingo horoscope to find out your lucky day and your lucky number for the week.

This can prove to be an invaluable aid when it comes to buying your bingo cards for the big game. Most bingo sites including Wink Bingo allow you to pre-purchase your bingo tickets, and you are always given a selection of bingo cards to choose from. So just look for those bingo cards with your lucky number of the week on, and if the big bingo game also falls on your lucky day, then it might just turn out to be a fantastic bingo win for you!

I’m a Gemini, and my Bingo Horoscope for this week says my lucky day to play bingo is Friday, and my lucky number is 12. So first I’ll be checking out the hot bingo action for Friday, and then I’ll buy as many bingo tickets as I can with the number 12, and also my birthday 17 – for extra luck!

My fave bingo site is Wink Bingo so I know that their £500 Risk Free Bingo Game is on every Friday (always love to play free bingo games), so that’ll be my first bingo stop of the night – and possibly the last, as Friday night’s at Wink Bingo are always pretty hot.

They also hold their regular Friday night £1,000,000 jackpot bingo game, so I’ll be sure to go for as many bingo tickets as I can afford in that great game. OK so I might just win the £1,000 guaranteed jackpot instead of the big 1 and 6x zero’s, but I’m not really fussed to be honest as I always have such a great time at Wink Bingo!

PS. If you don’t see me here next week, you’ll know for sure that Russell Grant’s Bingo Horoscope is spot on when it comes to online bingo!!!

A great extra way to make money if you’re a fan of online bingo is to take advantage of the many Refer A Friend programmes, or RAF programmes, as they are also known.

Online bingo sites love to reward players for their loyalty in a variety of different ways, one of which is the ‘Refer a Friend’ bingo programme that you’ll find on most, if not all, bingo sites. Other rewards include deposit bonuses, bingo points or Bbz depending on which site you play bingo at, free bingo games, extra bingo promotions, and many other nice surprises. Refer A Friend programmes are just one of the many ways to get more out of your online bingo experience.

The basic principle of these Refer a Friend bingo programmes is the same – via the online bingo site you play at you simply enter the email addresses of friends who might be interested in playing bingo online, and the bingo site will send them a personalised invitation from you.

When your friend registers an account and starts playing for real money, you collect your reward – simple as that! This is the basic principle of being a bingo affiliate, and in fact many bingo affiliates started out exactly like this, by referring one or more of their friends to their fave bingo sites. If you have a lot of friends who are bingo fans, or who are open to new experiences, then you could easily end up earning a nice sum of cash or bingo points each month to more than cover your bingo budget.

One thing we would advise however, is to alert your friends before you submit their email addresses to the bingo site. Although we only promote legitimate and trustworthy sites on Bingostreet, some of your friends might not want you to give out their personal email address. So it’s worth checking with them first.

And finally, if you find that you enjoy referring your friends to your fave bingo site then you might want to consider the next step, which is becoming a bingo affiliate. For more information on how to do this, read our Bingo Affiliates section.

Before you start to play bingo online you will want to understand the online bingo laws that you will be regulated by.  In 1968 the Gaming Act was passed in the UK.  This gaming act made it possible for bingo sites and other gambling institutions to remain open and offer public and private clubs to gamblers.  The law is a bit outdated regarding online activity, but it is still the online bingo law all companies must follow.

As a regulation bingo can only operate at places that are licensed and registered.  This means that many of the online bingo UK sites you may find online actually operate outside of the UK to make certain that they are not operating illegally.  Gibraltar is one of the hottest spots for bingo places to hold their licenses for UK players.

You also have the Gaming Board of Great Britain that is the regulatory body for casinos, bingo clubs, and other gaming establishments.  It is these that govern the online bingo laws that a site must follow.  You should also know that the National Bingo Game was launched in 1986 for bingo players.  It changed some of the legislation in the UK to allow for multiple bingo games to be played.

With the old fashioned laws it can be hard for the online sites to operate under legal laws.  There are some countries that are trying to ban private gambling places and others that want to ban gambling places completely.  These governments believe online bingo and gambling is the main contributor for their population’s debt.

For those in the UK the online bingo laws are outdated, which means you have to be careful to find a site that is operating soundly in the UK.  One site that has their license in Gibraltar and can offer bingo to UK residents is Wink Bingo.  Wink Bingo is legally registered to offer its online bingo product and bingo games to UK players.

While there are no proposed changes for the online bingo laws yet, it could be an issue in years to come.  With many countries trying to get online gambling stopped to help their population get out of debt the laws could become more restrictive for some of the sites.

For now it is up to the players to understand the online bingo laws and adhere to them.  If the players can show responsibility in playing bingo on the internet then the regulations may not be passed for more restrictions.  Time will have to tell us where online gambling may go in a few years, but for now you can have fun at a number of great bingo sites including Wink Bingo.
